Chrysler ME412 with 850bhp and extremely advanced shassis is of great threat to Veyron

Even although it’s basically a concept car, the boys at Chrysler, insist that there incredibly advanced if rather dully named ME412 will be a feature of our roads some day in the not to distant future. The most powerful car ever to come out of American based Chrysler was unveiled in 2004 at the Detroit Motor Show after a year of very secretive development.

What had been created was a mid engined, RWD, supercar to target the seemingly vast growing market of McLaren F1 crushers. With 850bhp and 850lb ft of torque, in a massively technologically advanced car which made even the Veyron look prehistoric, the concept was a great threat to the Europeans.

The ME412 has a computer estimated top speed of 248mph and an apparently tried and tested 0-60mph time of under 3 seconds. Chrysler have stressed that the car is a prototype rather than a concept. Has been rigorously tested on the roads and will be put into production as the fastest RWD car ever built.

The Power - derived from Chrysler group owned Mercedes-Benz the ME412 feature the 6 litre V12 found in the SLR McLaren. Rather than the mere 630bhp in the SLR, the 412 used four turbochargers like the Veyron to produces its 850bhp. The power is transmitted through a 7 speed quick shift gear box to the massive 20 by 12.5 inch rear wheels. Weighing at just over 1300 kilos its claimed that the ME412 will do the quarter mile in 10.6 seconds reaching 142mph.
